Maanit Zemel is a Founding Partner of Zemel van Kampen LLP, a Technology Law and Litigation boutique law firm in Toronto. Ms. Zemel has extensive experience and expertise in Internet law, including anti-spam, privacy and defamation laws. Ms. Zemel’s particular expertise is in the application of Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) to charities and non-profit organizations. She has advised numerous non-profits on their CASL compliance, from large umbrella organizations and charitable foundations to small charities and associations. In addition to her private practice, Ms. Zemel is a part-time member of the Ontario Landlord and Tenant Board, where she adjudicates disputes between residential landlords and tenants. Ms. Zemel is also a Sessional Instructor at the University of Toronto and at Ryerson University, where she teaches business law.
