Brenda Williams-Butts
SVP, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, New York Public Radio

Brenda Williams-Butts was named New York Public Radio's first-ever Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in 2015 and promoted to Senior Vice President in 2020.  Brenda leads DEI efforts across the organization.  She implements strategies focused on building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture that increases belonging in the organization and drives meaningful business outcomes. As part of the executive leadership team, Brenda provides thought leadership on staffing and employee-engagement strategies, policies, processes, and practices. Williams-Butts' team is also responsible for broadening the talent and guest pool beyond traditional sources to find and attract a diverse pipeline for WNYC and WQXR that reflect the communities the stations serve. Prior, Williams-Butts led NYPR's Community Engagement efforts.
