Maya Lohcham

Director of Marketing and Communications, Victoria Symphony

Maya Lohcham is a young professional arts administrator currently serving as Director of Marketing and Communications for the Victoria Symphony.

An undergrad in Art History sparked Maya’s interest in the impact cultural institutions have on our society. Pursuing this, she went on to complete a master’s in Museum Studies from the University of Toronto. Her time in Toronto brought a variety of administrative experience in the sector, from programming at the AGO, to front of house at the Bata Shoe Museum, to most notably fundraising and marketing for the National Ballet School. Marketing was the natural fit and she hasn’t looked back.

In 2017, Maya was offered a Graduate Internship at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles. A position with international competition, Maya was the only candidate chosen for the Department of Communications and Public Affairs. She has since worked in marketing for the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival and spent four years as Marketing Manager for Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival. Maya has also held a Board seat with Carousel Theatre for Young People for the past three years and has been with the Victoria Symphony since November 2022.
