Catherine Heitz New

An accomplished nonprofit leader whose clarity of vision and innovation have helped dozens of organizations achieve significant growth, Catherine Heitz New has two decades of experience in the nonprofit sector.

Heitz New has consulted with organizations across the country to conduct successful annual, capital, endowment and major gift campaigns. Her coaching approach blends active learning with guided implementation of best practices to realize immediate results while building long-term capacity.

Prior to joining RSC, Heitz New served as the Chief Advancement Officer and Deputy Director of the country’s first arts council in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She led The Council’s successful Comprehensive Campaign for the Arts, raising more than $30 million to build the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts, a five-block multi-disciplinary arts facility in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem. The campaign also founded The Arts Council Endowment Fund and established Winston-Salem as The City of Arts & Innovation through a public-private branding initiative. The final phase of the campaign was completed with a $1 million matching challenge from the prestigious Kresge Foundation that partnered The Council with city and county government to leverage additional regional support.
